Fair Work inspectors head to Adelaide to educate employers about workplace laws

February 17, 2011

The Fair Work Ombudsman is heading to Adelaide as part of its campaign to educate employers about workplace relations laws.

Inspectors will distribute information packs to about 175 businesses around the Adelaide area over the next few weeks.

The packs include information on national employment standards, modern Awards and best practice guides to ensure employers comply with their obligations.

“We are very serious about our job of building knowledge and creating fairer workplaces and are focused on ensuring the community understands its workplace rights and obligations,” Fair Work Ombudsman Executive Director Michael Campbell says.

He says employers need to ensure they pay staff right and apply the correct Award.
