CFMEU eyes strike against Boom Sherrin

Boom Logistics-owned Boom Sherrin faces industrial action after CFMEU won the right to seek support from employees for a strike

February 18, 2011

Boom Sherrin faces strikes of up to one week after the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU) won the right to ballot workers.

Fair Work Australia granted the CFMEU to hold the ballot as it attempts to strike a new enterprise agreement with the Boom Logistics-owned company.

The ballot, which expires on March 25, will ask workers if they support strikes of four hours, 24 hours, 48 hours and one week.

The CFMEU will also seek support from workers for overtime bans.
