Remote workers across the country will no longer be isolated as GPS tracking company Ezy2c plans to extend its satellite product after buying OmniTrack.

The GPS tracking and monitoring company purchased the company from OmniStar for an undisclosed amount.

Ezy2c CEO Evan Penn says the change means good news to customers.

"OmniStar customers will get the benefit of a dedicated GPS tracking company as its owner, that’s one thing that was lacking in the OmniSTAR business," Penn says.

"Most of the workers remote are on their own, the don’t have mobile phone reception. In the event of an accident or running out of fuel in the desert they’ve got a SOS pendant which they press that transmits our server by satellite back to a list of any number of people with an SMS message to say they’re in trouble."

Ezy2c plans to target mining and remote workers with their products. With up to 1000 customers, Ezy2c’s headquarters are based in Grafton, NSW. It has over 4000 vehicles being tracked across Australia, with a further 800 in Africa.
