Pinpoint gains IAP certification

Pinpoint Communications has been named as the sixth IAP provider

December 3, 2010

Competition in the Intelligent Access Program (IAP) is growing, with Pinpoint Communications named as the sixth provider of the monitoring tool.

Transport Certification Australia this week approved Pinpoint to offer IAP services. It joins Transtech Driven, Minor Planet, Omnistar, TCS and Black Box Control as the only companies permitted to offer IAP technology.

“Pinpoint has been committed to achieving this certification and it gives me great pleasure to welcome them into the selective group of IAP service providers,” TCA CEO Chris Koniditsiotis says.

“The addition of Pinpoint further demonstrates the robustness of IAP as a program.”

Trucking operators in NSW and Queensland must install IAP monitoring technology to gain higher mass limits access. Victoria and South Australia require the tool for higher productivity vehicles such as super B-doubles.

Pinpoint Managing Director David Grundy says the company is a strong supporter of IAP.
