December 6, 2010

Nigel Hart is GrainCorp’s new storage and logistics general manager after Bruce Griffin resigned from the position last month.

Formerly with BHP, Griffin was in the job for 18 months.

Hart has been with GrainCorp in various management roles for more than a decade and has recently worked as the general manager of ports for the company.

GrainCorp CEO Alison Watkins says the company conducted an internal and external search to appoint a replacement for Hart’s previous role

“A prompt decision of management is taking place to ensure the business of receiving and handling grain across out network is not disrupted now harvest is under way,” Watkins says.

“Nigel Hart has achieved a significant increase in grain and non-grain earnings and oversaw the introduction of the port access regulations, which required a number of business practice changes,” she says.

“He also led the development of a very strong team culture within the ports business unit.”
