November 17, 2010

The Truck Industry Council (TIC) has appointed Simon Humphries as its chief technical officer to replace the retiring Terry Pennington.

Humphries joins TIC from Wesfarmers Evol LNG where he was the business manager for almost two years. He also spent 10 years at Isuzu between 1998 and 2008.

Humphries will be responsible for developing TIC’s technical position on issues and the promotion of truck manufacturers to government and industry groups.

“I’m looking forward to focusing on key relationships and continuing to represent members at a government and industry level,” Humphries says.

TIC CEO Tony McMullan welcomed the appointment, labelling it a “logical choice”.

“Simon is a dynamic and passionate individual who brings considerable experience and technical knowledge to the role,” McMullan says.

The TIC is an independent organisation representing the views of Australia’s truck manufacturers, importers, diesel engine companies and major component suppliers to governments, industry groups and the general public.
