The ATA will use next year's industry awards conference to recognise the safest trucking operators in Australia

September 24, 2010

The Australian Trucking Association will use next year’s National Trucking Industry Awards to reward the safest operators in Australia.

The ATA will launch the TruckSafe John Kelly Memorial Award in recognition of companies accredited in TruckSafe that have successfully implemented the program and encouraged other companies to join it.

“It will seek out those who not only meet the TruckSafe standard, but run their businesses with a complete focus on safety,” ATA CEO Stuart St Clair says of the award.

The awards ceremony will be held in May 2011. John Kelly was a key part in the development of TruckSafe and worked for National Transport Insurance as its NSW risk manager.

Run by the ATA, TruckSafe is a business and risk management system designed to improve safety.
