Barker Transport makes finals of Mercury Awards
Queensland-based operator Barker Transport makes finals of three categories in Annual Logistics Mercury Awards
August 12, 2010Barker Transport Services has the chance to take home three gongs at this year Annual Logistics Mercury Awards, including one as the top transport and logistics provider.
The Queensland-based company has made the finals in three categories: Logistics Leader, Green Initiative and Top Transport Logistics/Solutions Provider
The awards recognise Australian companies that have made a contribution to the logistics and supply chain industries in the past year.
Barker will face heavy hitters Coca-Cola Amatil, Metcash and Schenker Australia.
"These awards recognise the biggest names in the Australian logistics industry," Barker Managing Director Ed Barker says.
"To achieve three finalist positions is a massive achievement in its own right, and one that we’re all extremely proud of."
Winners will be announced in Sydney on September 2.
A specialist transportation company focused on dangerous goods, fragile and difficult loads and environmentally-sensitive materials, Barker has been operating for more than 25 years.
