Caltex takes over fuel supply to Tasmania

Caltex takes over as the main fuel supplier to Tasmanian service stations and industry

July 9, 2010

Fuel retailer Caltex has taken over from Shell as the main fuel supplier to Tasmanian service stations and industry.

Caltex has begun shipping fuel, saying it will deliver about 34 million litres every three weeks into Hobart and Devonport.

The company says it has upgraded its fuel storage facilities within the Hobart terminal and invested more in its service stations to allow the introduction of premium fuels.

"Caltex will now supply much of Tasmania's petrol, diesel and jet fuel needs, replacing Shell," Caltex General Manager of Supply and Distribution Ken James says.
