Truck rolls on Cunningham Highway

Traffic is still being affected by a truck rollover at midnight near the Queensland border

June 4, 2010

Traffic on the Cunningham Highway near the Queensland and NSW border is still being limited to one lane as traffic officers try to remove a truck that rolled over in the early hours of today.

The B-double overturned 10km west of Warwick at Wheatvale just after midnight and efforts to remove it began around 3am.

Police officers were forced to call for more tow trucks about 6am, as the weight and location of the B-double hampered efforts to remove it.

While initially reporting one lane remained opened, a spokeswoman for Queensland Police says the highway was blocked until 10am.

“There is now one lane open,” the spokeswoman says.

“They have tipped it up on its wheels but they need to change the tyres before it can be moved.”
