Police advise motorists to avoid Logan Motorway after truck collision causes congestion and shuts down route

A truck collision on the Logan Motorway 40 minutes south of Brisbane has caused extensive traffic delays.
Police says two trucks travelling toward Ipswich collided west bound on the motorway at Larapinta near toll booths about 3:15am, spilling diesel.
Traffic diversions were set up to allow motorists to re-enter the motorway away from the incident, and one of the two southbound lanes only reopened after 7am.
A spokeswoman for Police Media says both lanes have now reopened but the route is still heavily congested.
Motorists have been advised to alter travel times or use alternative routes if possible.
Meanwhile, a truck collided with a power pole at Clayfield, about 30 minutes north of Brisbane about 7:50am.
The incident forced police to close down one southbound and one northbound lane the busy Sandgate Road, which leads onto the Gateway Motorway.
