One injured, truckie in shock after highway crash

Car and B-double collide on Pacific Highway, critically injuring the motorist and leaving the truckie in shock

Inquiries are continuing into a serious collision between a B-double and a car on the mid north coast of NSW last night.

Police and emergency crews were called to the Pacific Highway near South Urunga about 10:40pm following reports of the collision.

According to a police statement, the southbound truck and northbound car collided on a sweeping bend about 800 metres north of Martells Road.

“As a result of the collision the male driver, and only occupant of the car, has been ejected from his vehicle and suffered serious head, chest and leg injuries,” the statement says.

The man is currently in a critical condition. The truck driver was unharmed but was taken to hospital suffering shock.

The Pacific Highway was closed in both directions until 3.15am today.
