Average diesel prices have fallen from Monday, but prices may rise in the coming weeks

Average diesel prices have gradually declined since Monday, but there are signs they will rise in the coming weeks.
Terminal gate pricing data from the Australian Institute of Petroleum shows prices falling across all the capitals from Monday to today.
There has been a 1.2 cent a litre dip in Adelaide since the 124.5 cent per litre price on Monday.
Perth was down 1.3 cents per litre from 125.3 cents at the start of the week. Prices in Darwin dropped more than one cent to 127.2 cents a litre.
But there has been a rise in crude oil prices to $US74.32 – the highest price recorded since October 2008 – which may soon be reflected in the price of diesel.
Sydney started the week at 124.4 cents per litre before dropping to 123.1 cents today.
Diesel prices in Melbourne declined from 123.9 to 122.6 cents per litre from Monday to today.
The average price in Brisbane 122.9 cents per litre, down from 124.2 cents on Monday.
Despite the price of diesel falling by more than one cent, Hobart was the most expensive capital city, recoding 127.7 cents a litre today.
