Diesel prices still high following Easter break with steepest increase in Hobart recording 125.3 cents per litre, 8.1 cents higher than the national average

Diesel prices are still high following the Easter break with the steepest increase in Hobart recording 125.3 cents per litre, 8.1 cents higher than the national average on March 26.

Terminal gate pricing data from the Australian Institute of Petroleum shows diesel prices nationally for the week ending April 11 sat between 120.5 and 125.3.

Melbourne was once again the cheapest city to purchase Diesel with a terminal gate price of 120.2 cents per litre by the end of last week, although the average retail price sat at 125.3 cents per litre.

The national average was 128.5 cents per litre.

Sydney’s prices steadily rose throughout last week with last Monday’s price recorded at 117.9 rising to 120.8 by last Friday.

Before the Easter break, AIP data showed prices were dropping steadily between March 22 and March 26 with prices nationally sitting around 116-117 cents per litre.
