Diesel prices rose almost one cent last week, according to new fuel data

Diesel prices rose by a national average of almost one cent for the week ending March 14, according to new fuel data.
Despite fluctuating prices nationwide, terminal gate pricing data from the Australian Institute of Petroleum shows the national average was 117.6 cents a litre compared to last week’s price of 116.8 cents
Hobart was the most expensive city for fuel at 121.9 cents a litre, followed by Darwin at 121.5 cents.
Melbourne was the cheapest city in Australia, averaging 116.7 cents – a .4 cent rise from the previous week.
Sydney and Adelaide both averaged 117.3 cents a litre, two cents cheaper than Perth on 118.3 cents.
Brisbane’s average price rose .4 cents to 117 cents a litre.
Since dropping below 115 cents a litre in early and mid February, average national diesel prices have climbed steadily since the beginning of March.
AIP data is based on information provided by BP Australia, Caltex, Shell Australia and ExxonMobil, averaged across terminals and capital cities.
