It has been a bad 24 hours for the trucking industry on Queensland roads after two drivers were seriously injured when their rigs rolled over.

The first incident occurred yesterday afternoon west of Brisbane when the 65-year-old driver tipped the trailer of his prime mover.

He was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for head and chest injuries, while the Warrego Highway was closed.

Another driver had to be airlifted to hospital after he suffered serious head and back injuries when his truck rolled on the Bruce Highway south of Sarina at 3.45am today.

The highway was closed for more than six hours as police worked to remove the vehicle.
