Poole quits Asciano in boardroom reshuffle


Asciano Chairman Tim Poole to quit as part of major board reshuffle at the transport giant

Asciano Chairman Tim Poole is set to stand down at the company’s next annual general meeting as part of a major board reshuffle at the transport giant.

The parent company of ports stevedore Patrick and rail operator Pacific National will also add three new directors to its board, including former Orica chief Malcolm Broomhead who will take over from Poole.

Joining him on the board will be former ANZ Deputy CEO Bob Edgar and Geoff Kleeman. who spent nearly a decade as CFO of Crown.

Poole gave his support to the new appointments, calling them vital in Asciano’s future success.

"Each new director brings a diverse range of skills and experiences which will be of great value in the future," Poole says

"These board changes together with the recently announced senior management changes and recently completed capital raising place the group in a strong position and enhance an already very positive outlook."
