Metcash extends Foodworks distribution deal

Metcash extends distribution deal with supermarket retailer Foodworks in new 10-year contract

Metcash has extended its distribution partnership with supermarket retailer Foodworks in a new 10-year deal to supply groceries to its expanded network.

Metcash’s distribution arm, IGA>D, already serves some 700 Foodworks-aligned customers.

The new deal extends the contract until 2019, and includes the 45 new stores and eight aligned liquor outlets recently acquired from Coles.

The first of the new stores will transition to Metcash this month, including fresh produce, with all to be integrated into the distribution network by April next year.
