ASA, ICF merge to create ‘integrated’ freight service

Australian freight groups ASA Logistics and International Concept Forwarding announce merger

Australian freight groups ASA Logistics and International Concept Forwarding (ICF) have merged to form a “truly integrated supply chain management company”.

AXIA, as the business will be called, will aim to provide a full suite of logistics and supply chain services for businesses throughout Australia, something the new company’s CEO Sandra Fairchild says is becoming increasingly uncommon.

“Today’s announcement is really exciting for our customers. You cannot count on one hand the number of logistics service providers in this country that can bring the scale of services to the table that AXIMA can,” she says.

Fairchild has made it clear the merger will not create a “super company” and the small business atmosphere will remain in tact for customers of both businesses, although more services will now be provided.

“We are big enough to deliver the goods and don’t make people feel like they are just another number,” she says.

AXIA will operate out of Melbourne, but keep hold of a significant footprint in both Hong Kong and China.
