Toll enters agreement with Chevron to manage supply chain and logistics for the Gorgon Project
The Toll Group has entered into an agreement with Chevron Australia to manage the Barrow Island Supply Base and Logistics contract for the Gorgon Project.
The Gorgon project is a joint venture between Chevron, ExxonMobil and Shell to develop the Greater Gorgon gas fields off Western Australia which are thought to contain close to 40 trillion cubic feet of gas.
According to Toll Managing Director Paul Little, the company’s involvement in the project will concentrate on supply chain management and logistics service.
Toll’s work at the project is set to begin after all government approvals are met and a final investment decision is reached at the end of the year by Gorgon Joint Venture participants.
Little says given the abundance of resources in Australia Toll will be looking to firmly establish itself within the industry.
“Toll intends to look at further investments and organic growth in the resources sector, both in Australia and overseas,” Little says.
“The resources business continues to be a strong performer for the [Toll] Group.”
