QT Director General to speak at QTA meeting

Queensland Transport Director General to address national regulatory framework at QTA AGM

Queensland Transport Director General David Stewart will be grilled on a national regulatory framework for the trucking industry at the Queensland Trucking Association’s (QTA) annual general meeting next month.

Stewart is due to address questions on the proposed national framework and its impact on Queensland, local trucking operators and State revenue.

The QTA also expects the Director General to outline how local service delivery will continue under a national system and Queensland Transport’s vision for the scheme.

The meeting will be held on April 7 at the Colmslie Hotel in Morningside in Brisbane’s east.

Proceedings will commence at 12:30pm and will include the reception and declaration of the president’s and financial reports, as well as the election of the executive committee.

Nominations have been called for the board of directors of the QTA for 2009 and will close on April 1.
