GPS-TLS providers team up in search of new technology

Translogix and MTData have come together to create a new transport management system.

Transport and logistics solutions provider TransLogix and MTData, a major supplier of GPS tracking and fleet management systems, have come together to create a new transport management system with a fully integrated vehicle tracking solution.

The combination of the two companies will aim to provide a cost-effective transport management and tracking system to organisations within the Australian transport and logistics industry.

Both parties have announced they will prioritise their development initiatives to ensure Translogix’s transport management software is compatible with MTData’s tracking solution.

A major initiative will be to create an Intelligent Access Program (IAP) system which will use the Global Navigational Satellite System to monitor the road use of heavy vehicles, allowing transport operators to gain flexible access to the national road network for their specific business and operational needs.

The companies say IAP will benefit road and traffic authorities, providing information regarding the compliance of agreed road access conditions by heavy vehicles.

TransLogix Managing director Anslem Waterfield believes the combination of the two companies will allow transport technology to take a step forward.

“What makes this alliance so exciting is that we both find our strategies in perfect alignment, with each partner making significant commitments and leveraging our complimentary products, skills and experience,” Waterfield says.
