New memorial to be added to Lights on the Hill

A memorial to emergency services workers will be added to the Lights on the Hill memorial near Gatton in October

The
Lights on the Hill Trucking Memorial will unveil a plaque to remember the Emergency Services that attend road accidents.

Kathy White the founder of Lights on the Hill said
the workers
do an amazing job, and it was felt that by having a
memorial to the SES, Fire brigade, Ambulance, emergency Helicopter services, Police, nurses and doctors who all help save lives is a fitting way to say thank you from the Australian communities.

"The annual October
service is to remember the truck drivers no longer with us, as we should all know that without trucks on the roads we would not have the items we use each day of our lives or have the items we enjoy on a daily basis because a truck delivers these items some where some time every hour of the day and night around Australia, with out these men and women on the roads we would have nothing," White says.

"And without the Emergency Services out there every day all day and night we would indeed have problems with all sorts of things."

The service is open to
the public
from
2pm at Lake Apex Park outside of
Gatton.
