The Logistics Association of Australia (LAA) has announced its university scholarship recipients for 2008. Undergraduate scholarships worth $2,500 have been awarded

The Logistics Association of Australia (LAA) has announced its university scholarship recipients for 2008.

Undergraduate scholarships worth $2,500 have been awarded to Timothy Latta from the Australian Maritime College at the University of Tasmania and to Paul Wilkie from RMIT in Melbourne.

Both students are completing a Bachelor of Business, with Latta specialising in maritime logistics management and Paul Wilkie in logistics and supply chain management.

The winners of the $5,000 postgraduate scholarships are Mark Wilson and Teresa Xavier.

Wilson is currently enrolled in a Graduate Certificate of Business, majoring in supply chain management, at Victoria University, while Xavier is completing a Graduate Certificate in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the University of South Australia.

This university scholarships program provides an incentive for students to undertake logistics and supply chain streams and majors, according to LAA Committee Member and Program Convenor Mark Pearce.

“It was very encouraging to see such an enthusiastic response from so many young people keen to further their careers in the supply chain and logistics industry,” he says.
