The Victorian Government has launched its Transport and Logistics Interactive Careers website designed to outline the various roles within the industry.

The website, aimed at attracting young people to alleviate skills shortages, is complemented by the government-sponsored interactive CD-ROM, which is currently in use across Victoria, NSW and Queensland.

The Victorian Transport and Logistics Industry Round Table oversaw the development of the website and interactive CD, with Victorian Transport Association (VTA) Chief Executive Phil Lovel saying both will be effective in promoting the jobs in the industry,

“This website is the best resource I have seen which covers the variety and depth of careers offered by the transport and logistics industry,” he says.

“This online tool will now allow anyone and everyone to gain a broader understanding of this industry. Given the current skills shortages we hope that more people join T&L [transport and logistics] as a first choice industry.”
