SSI Schaefer says its new i-Pick has been designed to optimise automatic picking and increase warehouse efficiency.
According to Managing Director Alan Clark the i-Pick is a cost-effective entry-level semi automatic paperless picking solution which can be easily integrated into any existing warehouse management system.
“The user can install the entire i-Pick package without any special IT knowledge, with the help of a carefully-designed graphical user interface – the so-called touch panel PC,” he says.
“The system handles everything from the connection to an order database via the installation of operating features and the assignment of storage positions up to day-to-day use.”
The integration into the in-house network and product database is performed as simply as the statistical evaluation of storage/retrieval frequencies, he says.
“The i-Pick package consists of a panel PC with pre-installed i-Pick software, to facilitate effortless picking which can reduce picking error rates significantly and increase warehouse performance,” he says.
The i-Pick is ideally suited for warehouse with up to 800 products and can achieve a pick performance of 600 lines.
“With the SSI Schaefer i-Pick, you can equip your entire warehouse or simply parts of it to manage your picking process faster, more efficiently and reliably,” Clark says.
