Hong Kong’s largest independent cargo handler has been recognised on the global stage, winning international awards for air cargo excellence.

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) took home both the ‘International Cargo Handler of the Year’ and ‘Best Marketing Campaign in Air Cargo of the Year – Highly Acclaimed’ awards at the 2026 International Awards for Excellence in Air Cargo, hosted by STAT Trade Times.

The “International Cargo Handler of the Year” award was presented to Hactl in recognition of its exceptional performance and innovations, grounded in a culture that continually pushes for improvement.

Among the many recent projects which Hactl showcased in its entry submission included its 5G private network, which is a new digital backbone for Hong Kong’s busiest cargo terminal and will unlock the next stage in the development of the company’s growth roadmap.

On the innovation side, it showed how the second phase of its intelligent cargo thermal detection system is raising the global bar for cargo safety intelligence.

The Hactl team also won the “Best Marketing Campaign in Air Cargo of the Year – Highly Acclaimed” award, which recognises the company’s outstanding achievement in promoting its brand globally and maintaining a consistently high profile across global media.

“These two honours are a tremendous testament to the hard work of all our colleagues who have been recognised for their ongoing dedication to being the best in air cargo,” Hactl acting chief executive Michelle Choi says.

“We are privileged to receive these awards for our efforts to set the highest possible standards for our industry. We thank the organisers and those who took the time to vote for Hactl.”
