Hino is celebrating another solid Dakar Rally finish with its 600 series hybrid truck

Hino Trucks says it has once again returned to the top 10 in the Dakar Rally with its bonneted Hino 600 series hybrid truck.

In the 45th edition of the Dakar, trucks started on a sea camp on the shores of the Red Sea before ending on the opposite side of the Arabian Peninsula, with 14 stages covering almost 5,000 kilometres in total.

Hino says the 2023 edition was the 32nd consecutive Dakar Rally finish for the brand since 1991, when it became the first Japanese commercial vehicle manufacturer to enter the rally.

“The course was amazing and I think this has been the most difficult year for us so far,” driver and team director of Hino Team Sugawara Terubito Sugawara says.
