Custom built truck delivers the goods for Liebherr Australia

Smithfield-based company Liebherr Australia will add more Hino products to its fleet following the success of the purchase of a ‘built-to-go’ model from the Hino range.
Liebherr Australia purchased the Hino 716 Steel Ace to service bulldozers within the company.
A spokesperson for Hino Australia says the new built-to-go series offer operators custom options.
“The Steel Ace comes with a lot of extras, and its tray was long and sturdy enough for our requirements, so we were confident it would do the job,” Graham Bell of Leibherr says.
“The two key modifications that we had to make were the fitment of a custom-made tool box and a crane – in fact, the truck was ready before the tool box was finished, which underlines the advantage of the built-to-go concept.”
The new Steel Ace model runs a 110kW common-rail turbo diesel engine producing 397Nm of torque.
The six-speed manual transmission features the Hino Easy Start system that electronically maintains braking force, even after the driver’s foot is taken off the brake pedal.
