Hino and Fuso merger announces new executive leadership ahead of launch

The opening next year of the new manufacturer has resulted in a range of appointments at various brands

The impending merger between Hino and Mitsubishi Fuso has taken another step forward, with the combined group announcing new CEOs and board of director members.

Hino Motors and Mitsubishi Fuso, alongside Daimler Truck and Toyota Motor, have determined the designated management structure for ARCHION ahead of the new manufacturer commencing operations on April 1 next year.

The group CEO of ARCHION will be Karl Deppen, who is the current president and CEO of Mitsubishi Fuso.

Joining Deppen on the board are Fuso vice president and CFO Hetal Laligi, Hino Motors president and CEO Satoshi Ogiso, Kiyotaka Ise as a non-executive director, Daimler Truck vice president of corporate development and Christian Herrmann and then four independent outside directors in Sony University president Kazushi Ambe, Akihiro Eto, Shoko Kimijima and Izumi Kobayashi.

This means that, in turn, new leaders have been announced for both Hino Motors and Mitsubishi Fuso due to this shuffle in roles.

Former Daimler India Commercial Vehicles CEO Satyakam Arya is the new president and CEO of Hino Motors, while former head of Mercedes-Benz special and custom tailored trucks Franziska Cusumano is the new president and CEO of Mitsubishi Fuso.
