Heavy vehicle safety will feature as a prominent topic at the ACRS national conference

The topic of heavy vehicle safety will feature prominently at this year’s Australasian College of Road Safety’s (ACRS) national conference.
Road safety consultant and former VicRoads executive David Healy will deliver a keynote address titled, ‘Heavy vehicles: safety and profit – friends or foes’.
Emeritus Professor Mary Sheehan will tackle the topic of safety in rural and remote Australia in the other keynote address.
Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Infrastructure and Transport Catherine King will address the conference, which will be held in Sydney from August 9 to 10.
National Heavy Vehicle Regulator Project Director Richard Hancock will also make an appearance to update the conference on the progress of national heavy vehicle reforms.
The ACRS says the event will touch sessions that comparing heavy vehicle safety management in Australia and the United States and fleet safety management.
