Korean manufacturer Hankook has unveiled its new Vantra LT light commercial tyre, saying it offers improved durability and fuel economy compared to its predecessor.
The Vantra LT was also developed to offer reduced braking distances and improved safety in wet weather, Hankook Europe President and CEO Jin-Wook Choi says.
“With the Vantra LT we are targeting the specific needs of LCV fleet operators who require a tyre that delivers constant performance and safety over a long service life, while also saving money and protecting the environment,” Choi says.
The tyre features square-shaped contact patch technology for optimised groove positioning, increasing stability in the outer footprint area.
Three-channel wide central grooves and 3-D lateral grooves improve water dispersion, reducing hydroplaning and improving performance in wet and cold weather conditions.
Hankook has developed a reinforced belt structure, including double steel belts, combined with a new bead filler for enhanced rim joint stiffness.
The Vantra LT will be available in 34 different sizes to fit rim diameters between 14 and 16 inches, with tread widths between 165mm and 235mm. All versions are rated for mud and snow driving.
