Greg Holt takes reins at Swire Cold Storage

New managing director has been with the Swire group in Australia since 2013

Temperature-controlled logistics provider Swire Cold Storage has a new managing director.

Former managing director of mining logistics specialist HSE Greg Holt has moved back to Melbourne to take over leadership of the national network.

Holt first joined the wider Swire group in 2010, leading the Kalari agricultural logistics subsidiary until 2013 when he made the switch to HSE.

Prior to Swire, Holt held a range of senior executive positions in the logistics, food services, industrial services, infrastructure and waste management sectors in Australia and the UK.

Swire group chairman Geoff Cundle says Holt’s leadership at both Swire companies focused on safety leadership and performance, people and talent development, customer engagement, productivity, and financial performance.

Cundle says these will be similar priorities for Holt in his tenure with Swire Cold Storage, which took effect this week.

“[Cold-chain logistics] is a sector in which we have a long history and about which we are passionate to grow, while focusing very much on the needs of the customer and our people,” he says.

“With Greg’s appointment and the recent appointment of Andy Sanderson as service and operations director, we are strengthening the leadership team at Swire Cold Storage at a key moment in the business’s development and growth.”

Holt takes over the managing director role from Shane Moloughney, who led the Swire Cold Storage business from 2013.
