The managing director of Go-Ahead’s rail division in Australia and New Zealand has been awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to diversity and inclusion in the rail sector.
Angie Doll received the award after having worked with the Go-Ahead Group for nearly 20 years, holding several senior leadership positions, including most recently as CEO of GTR.
Go-Ahead says her leadership has played a key role in advancing diversity and inclusion within the rail industry, including increasing opportunities for women and supporting the development of future talent.
During her time as CEO of GTR, Doll led the rail operator to focus on delivering positive social impact through supporting career opportunities, improving accessibility of services and supporting positive mental health.
“It’s a real honour to receive this award. I’m passionate about improving diversity and inclusion in the rail sector, because it benefits everyone – our colleagues, our customers and the communities we serve,” Doll says.
“I couldn’t have achieved what I have without the incredible support of colleagues throughout my career, and I’m hugely grateful to them.”
Go-Ahead Rail CEO Patrick Verwer also praised Doll after she started her new role as managing director of rail at Go-Ahead Australia and New Zealand earlier this month.
“Angie’s recognition of an OBE is richly deserved. She has built an exceptional career in rail, and her passion and leadership have shaped the future of the industry and will leave a lasting impact,” Verwer says.
