George Savvides joins Kings Group board

The appointment marks yet another change in the company’s top management

Kings Transport and Logistics has announced the appointment of George Savvides to its board of directors effective immediately.

Savvides has “many years of experience in healthcare and manufacturing”, a company statement reads.

“On behalf of the Board and the Kings Group we would like to welcome Savvides and look forward to his strong leadership and proven track record in leading businesses to further the growth and success of the Kings Group.”

Savvides retired as the managing director of Medibank last month.

“I was delighted to accept the invitation to take up the chairmanship of the Kings Group due to the quality of the company and the significant potential for growth and innovation in supply chain services,” Savvides says.

His appointment comes after the company appointed Tony Mellick Group CEO last month.

Mellick took over the position left vacant by now non-executive director Stephen Cleary, who joined AHG Logistics as the new CEO in January.
