GPS manufacturer Garmin has launched a new vehicle tracking unit specifically designed to accommodate trucking operators.
The dezl 560LT device has trucker-specific points of interest, hours, fuel and mileage logs, truck speed limits and advanced route planning.
“The dezl 560LT has been specifically designed to meet the unique needs of the trucking industry,” Garman sales manager Ian Edwards says.
He says the truck-specific features will save drivers and fleet managers’ time, fuel and money.
Making use of Garmin’s trafficTrends technology, the dezl 560LT delivers routing and realistic arrival times. It has traffic alerts to notify drivers of delays and road construction areas and provides detours around them.
The dezl 560LT also allows drivers to search for upcoming highway exits for food, fuel, lodging, rest and truck stops and weigh stations, as well as simplifying route management with automatic archiving of kilometres driven and logs for fuel purchases and usage.
