Freighter Group appoints new-look senior leadership team

The trailer brand has revealed its new national sales manager while also appointing a general manager of sales excellence and marketing

Freighter Group has announced two key appointments to its senior leadership team, with a national sales manager and general manager revealed.

In the wake of the recent appointment of Michael Temminghoff as CEO, Freighter Group has appointed Rick Halliwell as its new national sales manager, while Brad Lane transitions from SA dealer manager to the new position of general manager of sales excellence and marketing.

Freighter Group says both appointments reflect its ongoing commitment to building a customer-first culture and delivering high-quality transport solutions across Australia during a period of significant growth and transformation.

In his new role as general manager of sales excellence and marketing, Lane will focus on aligning the customer experience and sales processes across Freighter Group’s national footprint.

Bringing over 18 years of experience across the transport, manufacturing and industrial sectors, Lane is well placed to connect product innovation with practical customer delivery.

“My vision is to help continue positioning Freighter Group as Australia’s leading transport solutions provider by strengthening the connection between our customers, products and people,” he says.

“My focus is on building a customer-first culture, driving innovation and enhancing collaboration across the business, ensuring we continue to deliver quality products and exceptional service as we grow.”

He adds the opportunity to help shape the next chapter of the business’ long Australian manufacturing history is a deeply rewarding challenge.

“What excites me most is the opportunity to help shape the future of Freighter Group during a period of significant transformation. Working alongside our customers, dealers and internal teams to develop smarter solutions, improve the customer experience and strengthen our national business is something I’m incredibly passionate about,” he says.

As national sales manager, Rick Halliwell will lead the national sales team with a core focus on building lasting relationships and ensuring Australian transport operators receive unparalleled service. He joins Freighter Group following a successful seven-year tenure as national sales manager at TR Group, where he developed a deep understanding of the diverse needs of transport fleets.

He says Freighter Group’s Australian manufacturing capabilities and reputation for reliability were key factors in his decision to join the team.

“Freighter Group’s reputation for quality and its long history in the Australian transport industry really stood out to me,” he says.

“I was also impressed by the people in the business and their passion for what they do. It felt like a company with strong values, a great team and an exciting future, and I wanted to be part of that next chapter.”

Looking ahead, his priority remains firmly on customer success and sustainable growth.

“My goal is to build on the strong reputation Freighter Group has earned over many years,” he says.

“I want to work closely with our customers and team to keep delivering transport solutions that continue to meet the varying needs of our industry, while ensuring we’re delivering the best possible experience.”

Both leaders emphasised achieving the best outcomes for customers starts with a supportive, collaborative and highly accountable internal culture.

“For me, leadership is about creating an environment where people feel supported, challenged and empowered to succeed,” Lane says.

“I believe the best results come from strong relationships, open communication and a shared commitment to continuous improvement.”
