A noted international transport and logistics school the University of Denver has unveiled the Lindsay E. Fox Scholarship.
The scholarship will support graduate education in intermodal transportation management at the Intermodal Transportation Institute’s (ITI) Executive Masters program at the university.
Linfox has sent 14 employees through the program since its inception in 2002 and CEO Michael Byrne graduated in 2003 and currently serves on the ITI Board of Directors.
A spokesman for Fox says the scholarship idea sprang from the learning institution and recognises Fox’s long association with it.
Fox was elected to membership on the ITI Board of Directors in 2001 and served until July 2010, when he was elected to ITI Board Emeritus status.
Board emeritus status is a life-time, honorary recognition of the time, effort, and support given to ITI and its programs as a member of the board, ITI says.
ITI is linked with Linfox College, which
offers employees a range of learning opportunities, from self-administered online courses to executive management courses at some of the world’s top business schools.
“At Linfox we offer employees many learning opportunities and encourage our staff to get out there and improve their learning,” Fox says in a statement.
The scholarship will be used “to support the growth and diversity of participation in the ITI graduate program”, it says.
The awardee will be announced at the Denver campus in October.
