Formula Chemicals joins TruckSafe scheme

Chemical transporter Formula Chemicals has added another accreditation scheme to its operation

Chemical transporter Formula Chemicals has added another accreditation scheme to its operation, joining TruckSafe as its newest member.

The New South Wales company is already a part of the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS) and is Clean Fleet accredited in NSW.

Formula Chemicals Director Leigh Smart says the TruckSafe program will give his firm procedures and guidance to improve its safety management systems.

“Safety is of major concern to us. The chemicals we deal with can be dangerous if handled incorrectly, so we make sure we keep up to date with all the latest training and regulations,” Smart says.

“For example, all our trucks are specially designed to contain any spill in the event of an accident, are tracked by GPS, and replaced once they are three years old.”
