The funeral of noted industry identity John Edhouse was held yesterday.

Edhouse, who was the chairman of the Driver Education Centre of Australia (DECA) between 1993 and 2009, died of cancer on January 8, aged 69 years.

He also ran his own consultancy firm, John G Edhouse & Associates from 1996.

Edhouse is survived by his wife Carole and children Bryce, Grant and Janine, and grandchildren.

His funeral was held at Le Pine Chapel in Melbourne’s Camberwell, with donations instead of flowers made to Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation.

Victorian Transport Association CEO Neil Chambers says Edhouse was a stalwart of the freight and logistics industry in Australia and was involved in productivity, safety and customer relations.
