Investment in Woree business precinct draws government praise
Queensland firm Followmont Transport has been identified as one of Woree Business and Industry Park’s (WBIP’s) key proponents after recently snapping up some of the remaining land at the Cairns-based precinct.
The Queensland state government reserved special praise for the firm for purchasing four of the final blocks of land, combining them “to accommodate their growth in the region”.
Followmont project manager Cassie Eivers says WBIP will be a good fit for Followmont Transport as it meets site, location and vehicle access requirements.
“We currently employ 42 full-time staff, including drivers, mechanics, warehouse workers and office staff, and we’re set to grow our team to 50 once operations pick up at the new depot,” Eivers says.
“Construction of our warehouse was completed late December and our first B-bouble was loaded out from there 4 January.”

Member for Cairns Michael Healy says the 48-lot precinct has been a catalyst for economic growth in Far North Queensland.
“Businesses have been able to come here, build unique facilities, expand their operations and create new employment opportunities for locals,” Healy says.
“It’s great to see the final lots snapped up. The sales highlight the value of the park to our city.”
Other transport and logistics operators with presence at WBIP include Direct Freight Express and TNT Express.
