Fletcher appointed non-executive chairman of DP World

Fletcher replaced current board member Holly Koeppel

 

DP World Australia has promoted John Fletcher to the role of non-executive chairman of its board.

Fletcher replaced Holly Koeppel, who will continue to serve as a board member, effective May 19.

“I am delighted with John’s appointment and to be drawing on his leadership and experience as we navigate through the major challenges confronting our industry,” DP World Australia MD Paul Scurrah says.

“The nation’s logistics industry is at the heart of the economic growth we are witnessing in our region.

“That, together with new technology, are positioning DP World Australia well for the future in what is a currently a challenging market.

“I look forward to contributing in my role as chairman to DP World Australia’s potential when Australia’s place in the region as both an exporter and importer has never been more important.”

Koeppel says Fletcher has been “at the forefront of Australian corporate leadership for decades.

“His experience in this regard combined with his extensive knowledge of the Australian logistics industry will be invaluable to our company.”

Fletcher joined DP World Australia as a non-executive director earlier this year.

He has held many executive positions in the past including, serving as the CEO of Brambles Industries and the Coles Group respectively.

He is also the current chairman of Green Distillation Technologies.
