Two maintenance managers and parts and services manager will compete for the Craig Rosender Award for Technical and Maintenance Excellence.
The Australian Trucking Association (ATA) has released the details of those vying for the annual prize, which brings with it a trophy, a scholarship to attend the American Trucking Associations’ Maintenance Council meeting and $1000 spending money.
Tony Rawson is the Maintenance Manager at Brisbane City Council, and has worked in the maintenance field for more than 20 years.
Graham Nash is Mountain Industries’ Maintenance Manager, joining the company after a 16 year stint with brambles Industrial Services.
The final nominee is Alan Wilkins, who works in Mac Trucks’ parts and service centre in Brisbane.
Wilkins has been with Mack for 23 years, starting as an apprentice heavy vehicle mechanic before working his way up to the role of parts and service manager.
The winner will be during the Castrol Awards dinner on November 10.
The dinner is part of the annual Technical and Maintenance Conference, which is run by the ATA and the Australian Road Transport Suppliers Association (ARTSA).
“The Craig Rosender award forms an important part of the trucking industry’s effort to promote the commitment and achievement of individuals and organisations in the industry,” ATA Chairman Trevor Martyn says.
“Given the calibre of the finalists, and indeed of all the entries, the judges have obviously had a difficult task. The industry is eagerly anticipating the announcement of a winner among these deserving finalists.”
The Technical and Maintenance Conference will be held at the Moonee Valley Function Centre in Melbourne from November 9 to 11.
