FedEx reveals new upgrades

The new upgrades arrive just in time for the holiday season

FedEx has launched Picture Proof of Delivery (PPOD) for express residential deliveries in Australia ahead of the busy holiday season.

Customers in Australia will receive a photo showing the exact location of their package once it is delivered to their doorstep.

The picture will be visible on their tracking notifications or by tracking their package on the FedEx website and the FedEx mobile app.

“We see an increasing trend of Australian consumers choosing to shop online,” FedEx Express Australasia Vice President Peter Langley says.

This has raised consumers’ expectations for an accurate and mobile-friendly parcel tracking experience.”

The launch of PPOD will help differentiate our service offerings and deliver an enhanced end-to-end customer experience.

Using the service, recipients expecting inbound shipments can receive delivery notifications, chat with FedEx directly, and manage redirect options with the click of a button.PPOD is a free service option and will not require enrolment, an account or login.

This announcement comes along with the introduction of a new and enhanced online shipping experience for its customers.

The new automated e-commerce capability in FedEx Ship Manager (FSM) supports small businesses and e-commerce merchants in Australia, helping them to efficiently manage their shipments online for their international FedEx shipments.

“With this enhancement, small businesses can enjoy automated e-commerce shipping and use the time saved on more strategic tasks to propel their future growth,” FedEx Express marketing and customer experience senior vice president Sali Chari says.

“As a technology company creating possibilities for what’s next, FedEx will continue to build world-class digital solutions like this for our customers.”

As businesses are preparing for the upcoming holiday, the enhanced FSM enables them to create shipments in a few simple and quick steps, saving considerable time spent on manual data entry to generate shipping labels.

With this digital enhancement, customers in Australia and across 63 countries and territories in AMEA will now be able to synchronise their Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce and PrestaShop store with FSM.
