FedEx releases its final shipping deadlines for Christmas 2025

The rush to the end of the year with many a business shutting down for a holiday break always puts pressure on the delivery of products to customers.

For those out there in the logistics world using FedEx to shuffle your wares, or looking for guidelines to used based on what one of the bigger players is saying, these deadlines could be handy to take note of. 

As FedEx Australasia regional vice president Peter Langley says, this time is hectic for customers.

“The holiday season is a critical time for our customers, especially small and medium businesses, where reliable shipping can make all the difference in driving success and unlocking growth,” Langley says.

“With our extensive network and intelligent shipping solutions, we’re empowering businesses to ship more efficiently and with greater flexibility across the globe.”  

FedEx’s definitive holiday shipping deadlines are:

Sending shipments within Australia:

  • The deadline for sending Economy & Road Express- Interstate (Standard) is Friday 19 December. However, for Western Australia and the Northern Territory, the last day for shipping is Wednesday 17 December.
  • As for Priority Services (9:00 Express, 10:00 Express, 12:00 Express and Overnight Express services) to and within capital cities, the deadline is Monday 22 December.
  • The final deadline for collecting shipments before Christmas Day from FedEx Station is Tuesday, 23 December.
  • International shipments generally have earlier deadlines:

Sending shipments to New Zealand from Australia

  • For International Economy Services (International Economy and International Economy Freight): Thursday 18 December. 
  • For Priority Services (International First, International Priority Express, International Priority, International Priority, International Connect Plus and International Priority Freight): Monday 22 December.

Sending shipments to all other FedEx international destinations from Australia

  • For Economy Services (International Economy and International Economy Freight): Monday 15 December.
  • For Priority Services (International First, International Priority Express, International Priority, International Connect Plus and International Priority Freight): Friday 19 December.
