FedEx expands international service to Australia

FedEx’s FICP service is now available in Australia and New Zealand as it looks to grow its Asia-Pacific international e-commerce offerings

FedEx has expended its International Connect Plus (FICP) service Australia and New Zealand in a move that will improve the agility for e-tailers in the two countries.

FICP is FedEx’s international, day-definite e-commerce shipping service that is already available in key Asia Pacific markets including China, Hong Kong SAR and Japan.

Vice President of FedEx Australasia Peter Langley says the growing importance of international e-commerce and logistics means more solutions are needed for local SMEs.

“With e-commerce transforming global trade, FedEx International Connect Plus offers local SMEs a significant advantage,” Langley says. “Faster, more efficiency international shipping to expand their reach.

“This service reflects our commitment to empowering SMEs with innovative solutions to thrive in this dynamic environment.

“We are laser focused on delivering comprehensive suites of efficient shipping solutions to local businesses to drive growth and enhance customer experience.”

The extension of FICP aligns with FedEx’s desire to improve cross-border e-commerce from Asia-Pacific to the United States and Europe.

The Australian e-commerce market is expected to generate a revenue of US$42.22 billion in 2025 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over eight per cent.

The market is expected to reach US$58.03 billion by 2029.

E-commerce sales in Asia are projected to reach US$13.209 billion by 2030 at a CAGR of over 17 per cent between 2023 and 2030.
