The federal government has announced the reappointment of a non-executive director of Australia Post to the board.
Dr Richard Dammery will continue on the Australia Post board for another three years after first being appointed in 2021.
Federal communications minister Michelle Rowland says Dr Dammery has brought valuable governance, legal and commercial expertise to the board.
“I congratulate Dr Dammery on his reappointment to the Australia Post Board and wish him well as he continues in this important role,” Rowland says.
“The federal government is committed to ensuring that Australia Post remains a beloved and integral institution for all Australians, and the Board will play a key role in delivering on the government’s reform agenda for the organisation.
“Dr Dammery brings a wealth of experience in governance, legal and commercial expertise to Australia Post, and I look forward to working with him and the rest of the Board to support the organisation on its modernisation journey.”
His experience includes roles as the former Chief Legal Officer at Woolworths Group, General Counsel at Coles Group and partner at Minter Ellison. He is also an experienced non-executive director on several boards in the technology and logistics industries.
Dr Dammery is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an adjunct Professor at Monash University Business School.
The reappointment of Dr Dammery ensures the retention of critical corporate knowledge and continuity on the Board. He has commenced his reappointment from this week.
