Fair Work Ombudsman inspectors will doorknock businesses in Sydney's west as part of education campaign on industrial relations

Fair Work Ombudsman inspectors will begin a doorknock campaign this month to help businesses in Sydney’s west understand their industrial relations obligations.
Inspectors plan to visit about 75 businesses to hand out education packs to those previously bound by the NSW system but are now under the national workplace model.
The Ombudsman says inspectors will visit employers in Cambridge Park, Emu Plains, Glenmore Park, Luddenham, Mulgoa, St Marys, Ropes Creek, Wallacia, Warragamba and Werrington.
It is already conducting another education campaign that runs until the end of July that focuses on businesses in Greystanes, Silverwater and Toongabbie.
Fair Work Ombudsman Executive Director Michael Campbell says the informal visits will help employers understand national workplace laws, such as employment standards and modern awards.
“Information packs being distributed include helpful resources such as fact sheets, templates and best practice guides – providing advice on practical steps employers can take to adjust to the federal system,” he says.
