Entries open for freight industry awards

The VTA is now accepting nominations and entries for its annual industry awards program

The Victorian Transport Association (VTA) is again seeking entries for the annual Australian Freight Industry Awards.

The 26th incarnation of the national event will take place at the Palladium ballroom at Crown Casino in Melbourne on September 5.

VTA CEO Peter Anderson says the awards pay tribute to the people and organisations lifting standards and safety across the freight and logistics industry.

“This momentous occasion has become synonymous with the industry’s quest for improved workplace safety standards and operational efficiencies, increased levels of productivity and heightened professionalism,” he says.

“As the peak freight and transport industry association, the VTA has been proud to be active in and supportive of such achievements which contribute greatly to the prosperity of our national economy.”

The event will be hosted by comedian Peter Rowsthorne, with further entertainment from former Noiseworks front man Jon Stevens and singer-songwriter Wendy Stapleton.

“I invite all companies to get involved by entering the Awards and attending this important, once a year tribute to the people who contribute so generously to lifting the profile of the industry,” Anderson says.
