Emerald Carrying Company has looked internally for the appointment of its new CEO, with former Group General Manager Arron Johnson stepping into the role.
Johnson has already spent over five years with Emerald after initially joining as Northern Regional Manager in January, 2020. He then elevated to Group General Manager in 2021 and held the position for over three years.
The company was established in 1965 by Bill and Joan Haylock and remains family-owned to this day, with Greg Haylock holding the Managing Director role and Matt Haylock the company’s General Freight/Fleet Manager.
It specialises in bulk liquid transport and general freight. It acquired Monaro Fuel Haulage in 2016.
An exciting new chapter for me at Emerald Carrying and Monaro Fuel Haulage,” Johnson wrote on social media.
“After three and a half years as the group general manager, Greg Haylock and the Haylock family have given me the opportunity to step into the role of group CEO.
“I’ll be honest – titles have never been what drives me. What does matter to me is the outstanding people I work with, the trust we build, and the results we deliver together.
“That, underpinned by our family values, has always been the backbone of our company, and it’s something I plan to keep at the heart of what we do moving forward
“For me it’s about showing up, working hard, and doing what’s right by the team and our customers.
“I’ll keep doing just that in this new role, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.
“Here’s to the next chapter. Let’s get stuck in!”
